Top Sacred Message . . . " It's Later Than You Think! " Book of Malachi
Malachi was the last of the Old Testament prophets who painted a graphic picture of the Old Testament history showing that great reforms were needed to prepare for the Coming Messiah. The Day of Judgment was the Key Theme in Malachi and God’s Word resounded with truth, “I, the Lord do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob are not destroyed (3:6).” This would be the last Word of God before the Messiah would come some 400 years later: “See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful Day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse (4:5-6).”
Malachi was challenging the people of God (the Church) to examine their lives and faith in the Light of God’s Truth. And that is our challenge today as we hear again this Old Testament Prophesy in the Light of Jesus Christ. The prophetic Word has become Flesh in Jesus so we might all choose between obedience and salvation, or sin and destruction. The Prophetic Word calls for Justice, Righteousness and Faithfulness. This is our hope and promise of deliverance that will come through Faith in Jesus Christ, the Promised Messiah.
“For you who revere the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall (4:2).” Faith is the Victory, that overcomes the world!
Lent begins our 40-Day Journey with Jesus to the Cross and beyond the grave!
