Festival of Sharing Table
The fruit and vegetable table continues to overflow with produce that provides not only food, but donations for the “Festival of Sharing” in October.  If you would like to bring some of your harvest, remember that the monies collected will go to feed others.  “When you did it to one of the least of these . . .”

Bell Game

As you may be aware, the demands on the food pantries in Brookfield and Marceline are very high.  In fact, within the last month Brookfield’s pantry was depleted and had to shut down for a few days.
Brookfield Ministries is asking for your help, but in a fun way.  On September 3rd the annual Bell Game will be played in against Marceline.  Brookfield Ministries and the Marceline Ministerial Alliance will be holding a food drive to see which community can collect the greatest amount of canned goods and non-perishable foods.
We will be collecting food prior to and at the game to be place in Brookfield’s trailer (TUMC’s collection barrel is located just inside  the south door).  At the end of the first quarter the contents of each communities collection trailers will be weighed and the winner announced at half-time.  Each community will keep their donations to be used in their pantries.

Jesus Is Lord Academy
The first two weeks of school are behind us and it was a wonderful time of training and preparation for students and staff.  Beginning Monday, August 30th, all policies and procedures will take effect.  If you would like to see a policy procedure manual they are available.
The Academy has a need for an art and Physical Education teacher.  If you can assist one to three days for a couple of hours per week, please call the church office.  We also need small gifts for our “Merit Store” to give as awards to students.  There are six windows in the Learning Center that need curtains.  Could you help?  Thanks for all you do, and continue praying for us!
